April 2009	A couple of years ago 'Vinci' was already a steady hit at the Westpark Gamers, now Philippe Keyaerts has created a completely new version of the game that manages to outshine its predecessor in all departments while also solving some of the problems the game had. This is especially true of the new secret victory point rule that eliminates the unwieldy point counting and kingmaking in the last rounds, and also of the new fantasy theme that somehow makes the game more relaxed and less frustrating. Among many other small improvements the new limited game length is a very good idea and has to be mentioned especially. In short: A good game has become much better, so 'Small World' deserves a game of the month award in its new stand-alone incarnation.
