Because the "Wahre Walter" AI opponents are rather reluctant in acquiring cards, you had a wide selection of cards to choose from. However, it was important to buy the cards in such a way that all four card stacks are reduced equally in order to prolong the game.
One way to do this was to consistently buy from the second row. If you leave the upgraders for the next round the green and blue stack is depleated slower (it's a bit like the solo game where one can reach a total of 19 rounds). The observatory is used rather seldom in this game and later is even upgraded, together with the warehouse.
The pub is heavily used from round 7 onwards. The second pub would even have improved the result by 5 points. Respect!
You can explore the full solution by downloading the result file of the winner; you can use the UNDO/REDO buttons to scroll backward/forward to exactly examine each move played!
The first and the second winner were drawn from a hat on July 1st, 2005!
The winners of the 5th WPG Sankt Petersburg Puzzle are:
Astrid Bönning from Germany (best result) and Stephan Wasserroth from Germany (lucky draw) |
Congratulations to both of you from all the Westpark Gamers and the crew from Hans im Glück!
