April 2007 | Notre Dame puts players - as our Guenther has put it - immediately under high 'starving' pressure when managing their pawns. No matter what you do, one has always 'too little' to do it: too few actions, too little money, too few pawns and usually way too many rats. It is rare that a game puts such high pressure on the players right from the first round, without being mean or unjust at the same time. Of course this is a typical German abstract Euro game, but its designer has devised so many clever playing mechanics that we were immediately taken by it. High marks by the Westpark Gamers! |
